After the plans have been floating around for almost 15 years, things are now apparently getting really serious with a Google location in Kronstorf in the Linz-Land district.
As the internet company announced, the planned system is “an integral part of the implementation” of the Google Cloud region of Austria. Apparently Austrian cloud customers have to be taken care of from Kronstorf.
It specifically reads: “We welcome the announcement by Google Cloud Vice President Infrastructure Sachin Gupta for a Google Cloud Region Austria. It will be built in Upper Austria in the Kronstorf/Hargelsberg area on a long-owned piece of land by Google, which has very good conditions and is located in a very business-friendly environment.”
However, it will be “some time” before construction begins. In the final phase, 100 full-time jobs will be created there.
