Battery instead of diesel – the dream of a green construction site comes true

Date:

Battery storage instead of diesel generators should supply electricity to construction work in the cities. A Mauthausen company in Upper Austria is working on solutions for exactly this. The goal: to reduce CO2 emissions and noise pollution.

What to do if a company wants to prepare for a blackout? What if electricity at events has to be as green as possible, but no photovoltaic systems are installed for that reason? xelectrix has an answer to these questions.

For example, while Miba in Bad Leonfelden builds storage systems for motorcycles, autonomous forklifts and snowblowers, the Mauthausen-based company has an eye for the construction sector, trade, industry and agriculture: the company was founded in 2016 by Alexander and Dominik Hartl, who has a lot of experience with rock crushing machines, was founded. The storage units have been for sale since 2020.

Protected by patent
Today, the xelectrix concept is protected by a US patent, and Europe will follow. The energy crisis gives a boost. But: Parts are still scarce: “We need more batteries, more inverters,” emphasizes sales manager Shaun Montgomery.

Former Wacker Neuson boss on board as advisor
The dream of a green construction site – without diesel generators – feeds the demand from the construction sector: less CO2 emissions and noise are the magic words. The know-how for this also comes from Martin Lehner: the ex-boss of the construction machinery manufacturer Wacker Neuson is on board as an investor and advisor.
