FH partnership – krone.at continues to tackle skilled labor shortage

Date:

krone.at continues to actively combat the shortage of skilled workers and extends the successful cooperation with the Hogeschool Technikum Wien. For the 2022/23 academic year, there was again the opportunity to have the master’s program “Data Science” financed by krone.at and to have a strong partner at your side for the master’s thesis. Now the winner is certain.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to gain insight into practical data science topics through the krone.at grant and to work on a very exciting topic during a master’s thesis and gain valuable experience in the process,” says the winner of the current call for applications, Anna-Christina Zechmeister. At krone.at you not only finance the tuition fees for four semesters, the student also gets exclusive insight into the digital part of the largest daily newspaper in the country.

Successful cooperation and great opportunity for krone.at
krone.at CEO Christopher Sima is pleased to support another student this year with this successful collaboration: “Anna-Christina can exchange information directly with our data analysts as part of her master’s thesis and has access to our data pool”, sees Sima, the collaboration with the Hogeschool Technikum Wien “as a great opportunity to present our company as an employer to up-and-coming talent. As a large media company, it is extra important for us to continue to be seen as an interesting employer for young applicants in the future.”

Course director David Meyer is also pleased about the extension of the successful collaboration: “Mrs. Zechmeister is a student of the part-time master data science at the Hogeschool Technikum Wien, who, in addition to training in the core areas (e.g. data engineering, machine learning), mainly focuses on on developing practical solutions”.

Former graduate Alexander Bruckner is grateful for the opportunity to write his master’s thesis in collaboration with “Krone”. “Particularly interesting was working with real, raw data and thus the discovery and development process as part of the data analysis project. Preparing and integrating multiple data sources in different formats, sometimes containing a very large amount of data, was a complex problem for which developing the solution was exciting,” says Bruckner.

Versatile course with strong practical relevance
Data science is a young but clearly established field that is in high demand. For data scientists you need a versatile education with a strong practical relevance. Data analytics plays a central role in krone.at’s efforts to deliver the best content to its readers at the right time. The collaboration between Technikum Wien and krone.at therefore leads to major synergy effects and benefits all participants.
