The KV negotiations in the metal industry were completed on Monday in the first round. The KV minimum wage will be increased by 8 percent as of 1 January 2023, the actual wage will increase by 7.1 percent, students will receive up to 10.2 percent more money and the climate card.
From now on, the minimum wage will be € 2234.52 per month. The supplements will increase by a maximum of 8.3 percent. Trade union PRO-GE announced this in a broadcast on Monday. “The agreement negotiated by the social partners in the metal trade permanently strengthens the purchasing power of the workers. We were also able to put together a nice package for the 18,000 students with substantial increases and a free climate ticket,” says PRO-GE national chairman Rainer Wimmer.
About 110,000 workers and 18,000 students are affected. The KV comprises various professional groups, such as electrical engineering, metal engineering, mechatronics, vehicle mechanics and plumbers. The starting point for the negotiations was inflation for the twelve months from September 2021 to August 2022 of 6.3 percent.
