More and more ‘Krone’ readers complain, sometimes even despite additions to their annual accounts, about absurdly high prescriptions for electricity and gas. The providers often say concisely that you can reduce your monthly costs again. However, people hang on the telephone line forever or often do not get through at all. Energy companies cannot afford everything. We answer the most important questions.
Why are energy suppliers allowed to prescribe amounts at all?
Companies need planning certainty, which is why they calculate as much in advance as they have to pay after a year. That is covered by law. When the consumption is read, the annual statement is made. It depends on the consumption whether you receive a credit or an additional payment. If you make additional contributions, the partial amounts will be increased next year.
