After six rounds of negotiations, the approximately 10,000 employees of the state-listed A1 Telekom signed a commercial agreement. This averted a threatened strike for tomorrow, December 8.
Under the agreement, each full-time employee will receive EUR 2,750 net per person for the first three quarters of the year, one third of which will be paid at the beginning of each quarter. From October everyone will receive a salary increase of 7.3 percent.
Based on this KV increase, the KV for 2024 must then be renegotiated, said Werner Luksch, head of the works council of Telekom Austria. This guarantees the sustainability of the agreement. Due to the one-off payment, lower salary scales in particular receive almost 14 percent more money. On average, this means a net increase of 9.2 percent. Due to the payout at the beginning of the quarter, the money flows faster than with a normal salary increase.
200 euros more for students
The student income is increased linearly by 200 euros gross. This corresponds to an increase of almost 24 percent in the first year of training and almost 12 percent in the fourth year of training. In addition, the students receive an extra holiday for a perfect drive as part of a driver’s license training. A maximum of 60 students are accepted. Temporary workers who have been working at A1 for more than 12 years must be hired.
Today another round of negotiations will take place for the approximately 5,000 employees of the telecom providers (apart from A1 Telekom). There is currently no uniform collective labor agreement for the telecom sector.
