In the last wage round, the collective labor agreements were between 7.3 and 9.3 percent. Those affected include the metal industry, workers in breweries and farms. Many of them will also receive inflation adjustments next year.
This was announced in the current “KV Newsletter” of the Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB). For employees in breweries and the brewing industry, the living premium is about 75 euros or 275 euros – depending on how much the company produces. Their salaries and benefits have been retroactively increased by 7.4 percent as of October 1, 2022. Wages in the malting industry, which have increased retroactively as of November 1, 2022, are just above this (plus 7.5 percent). There is a cost of living adjustment of 50 euros. The new minimum wage is 2176.91 euros gross.
Biggest plus for cinemas
Also on November 1, KV wages and wages for students in the coffee-making industry were increased (7.3 percent higher, gross minimum wage is 1,832.89 euros). In December, the negotiations between the metal industry (7.4 percent more wages) and the railway workers (8 percent more salary or at least 480 euros per month) finally came to an end. The same goes for retail (plus 7 percent). The highest plus is among employees in cinemas with 9.3 percent, the allowances also increased for them. However, the group is manageable in number.
As of January 1, 2023 wages for employees in wineries (8 to 8.2 percent, minimum wage 1841.62 euros), in the textile and clothing industry (8.1 percent) and for monument, facade and building cleaners (8.56 percent ). For farms, salaries in categories one through three increase by 8.4 percent and in category four by 8.1 percent. Student income even rises by an average of 14.62 percent. In addition, according to research KV and in travel agencies, employees have a higher income from January. The research collective labor agreement contains 7.51 percent more money. In addition, employees will in future be entitled to time off for a child’s first day of school if they transfer from primary school. There must also be an inflation adjustment.
Price increase bonus of 35 euros/month
For travel agencies, the increase in the collective labor agreement minimum wage is 7.6 percent. All full-time employees receive a living allowance of 35 euros per month, part-time employees and those with marginal employment receive a pro rata allowance.
