From 2016 to 2022 there was a fairly dry period: the policy rate of the European Central Bank (ECB) was usually zero percent. Since July 2022, the ECB has increased in four steps to 2.5 percent – and now, as reported, by another 0.5 percentage point to 3 percent. And the experts of the individual banks expect another rate hike – the next meeting of the ECB is in March anyway.
