For example, you can request the check for 200 euros from Wednesday 15 February

Date:

The government will try to avoid the fiasco of the previous anti-crisis check, which barely reached 22% of possible beneficiaries

It is one of the key measures of the government’s latest anti-crisis plan. From this Wednesday, February 15 to March 30, citizens who meet the conditions can apply for the new check of 200 euros with which the Executive aims to help families in the face of the inflationary crisis.

Taking into account that retirees and minimum vital income beneficiaries are excluded from the plan, the executive calculates that the aid will reach about 6 million people, about 4.2 million families. An objective that requires impeccable management to avoid the fiasco of the previous anti-crisis control.

In particular, the previous one-off payment of EUR 200 approved in June, which could be requested until September 30, was a significant setback compared to initial forecasts. The Ministry of Finance calculated that this aid – intended for low-income people with an income of less than 14,000 euros – would amount to 2.7 million.

In the end, it barely reached 600,000, according to ministry data. The huge bureaucratic burden of applying for the aid is at the root of this failure to deliver the aid that the government will try to avoid with the new check approved this Tuesday, the requirements of which are described below:

It is a support consisting of a one-off payment of 200 euros, for people with a low income and assets, who were employed, self-employed or beneficiaries of unemployment or subsidy during 2022.

Those who had an income of less than EUR 27,000 in full in 2022 (the gross amount without settlement of costs or deductions) and a maximum of EUR 75,000 in assets on 31 December 2022 (discounting the habitual residence), can apply for this support .

One of the requirements is to have a habitual residence in Spain. For the calculation, the income and assets of the following persons living at the same address must be added: beneficiary; husband; common law couple registered in the register of common law unions; descendants under the age of 25, or with a disability, with an income not exceeding 8,000 euros (exclusively exempt); and ascending to the second degree in a straight line.

There can be several beneficiaries in the same household, for example if they are only roommates or a couple without any kind of legal relationship. This harms families, where the 27,000 euros will be the ceiling for the income of all its members.

Those who as of December 31, 2022:

– Receive the minimum vital income (including child benefit allowance).

– Those who receive a pension paid by the general scheme or the special social security schemes or by the passive class scheme of the state, as well as those who receive similar benefits from the mutual social security alternatives for RETA (Special social security scheme for the self-employed or the self-employed).

– Nor do they have the right to assistance, if during 2022, one of the people living at the same address (beneficiary; spouse; registered partner registered in the register of trade unions; descendants under 25 years of age, or with a disability, with an income not exceeding 8,000 euros (excluding exempt); and lineal relatives up to the second degree) were administrators of a commercial company that had not ceased its activity on December 31, 2022.

The support is requested via the electronic form that is available at the Electronic Counter of the National Tax Authorities. To submit the application, it is necessary to have a Cl@ve, electronic certificate or DNI-e. You can also submit the form, a third party by proxy or social cooperation.

To apply for these aids, the NIF of the applicant and of the persons residing at the same address and a bank account of the applicant into which he wishes the aid to be paid must be completed. It is not mandatory to record the NIF of minors under the age of 14 who do not have it.

The aid is paid by bank transfer. For this reason, it is necessary to provide a bank account owned by the applicant in order to pay the aid. After a period of three months from the end of the deadline for submission of the form without payment being made, the application may be considered rejected.
