257,000 euros debt – Petzner insolvent: reorganization procedure opened

Date:

Former FPÖ/BZÖ politician and now PR adviser Stefan Petzner is insolvent. The creditors’ protection associations KSV1870 and AKV announced on Thursday that non-self-management reorganization proceedings have been opened at the Commercial Court of Vienna regarding his assets as the owner of “petzner communications eU”. Petzner wants to continue, he offers the six creditors 20 percent within two years.

The debts amount to 257,000 euros, so Petzner would have to pay back 51,400 euros in two years – if his restructuring plan is approved. This will be decided at the beginning of May.

Jörg Haider’s former press spokesman and confidant followed him to the BZÖ, which had split from the FPÖ, where he also held political positions. In 2013 he was expelled from the party – and then worked as an author and PR consultant. According to the Alpine Association of Creditors, he became self-employed in 2016 with the sole proprietorship “petzner communications” eU, which offers PR and political advice.

According to AKV, Petzner justified the fact that he became insolvent with reduced work capacity due to health problems and the collapse of the order situation due to the corona pandemic – but also with enormous costs due to a wide variety of legal proceedings. He was in court, among other things, because of the election brochure of the Carinthian BZÖ.
