High demand systems – over 100,000 PV grant applications in just one hour

Date:

Not least because of the energy crisis, the demand for photovoltaic systems and electricity storage in Austria is still huge. This is now also illustrated by the current funding round: within five minutes, the state financier OeMAG received 58,184 applications – within an hour the number rose to more than 100,000 tickets.

Applicants now have until this Friday to complete their funding application. At the moment nothing can be said precisely about the amount to be allocated and how many applications can be covered with the budget. This information would be known at the earliest two weeks after the end of the funding call.

OeMAG wants to increase capacity
“Together with our partners, we have taken all technical measures to make the process run smoothly; We are constantly working on increasing our capabilities,” assure OeMAG board members Horst Brandlmaier and Gerhard Röthlin according to the announcement.

The financing round on Thursday was mainly about the allocation of 168 million euros. Another 100 million euros is available through the Climate and Energy Fund. Financing applications from private individuals for installations with a capacity of up to 20 kilowatt peak that cannot be operated by OeMAG will be forwarded to the climate and energy fund, subject to the approval of the applicants.

The Ministry has allocated a total of 600 million euros
In a statement, Minister of Climate Protection and Energy Leonore Gewessler (Greens) expressed her delight at the large number of people who attended the current call. “Uncountable numbers of people in our country want to be part of the energy transition. They want to protect the climate and strengthen the independence of our country,” said Gewessler.

The question also shows that the increase in the financing budget was the right choice. According to the OeMAG broadcast, a total of 600 million euros in funds is available this year.
