The Upper Austrian fire service supplier Rosenbauer sank into the red in 2022. Below the line, it amounted to a loss of 22.3 million euros (2021: +23.2 million euros), the listed company announced on Friday. “The repeated disruptions in the supply chain have led to significant production inefficiencies in 2022, making it the most difficult year in Rosenbauer’s history,” said Sebastian Wolf, CEO of Rosenbauer.
Preliminary figures on operating profit (EBIT) and turnover, which were published in mid-February, were largely confirmed. Year-on-year turnover decreased slightly to 972.2 million euros (2021: 975.1 million euros). At minus EUR 10.6 million, EBIT was slightly lower than reported in February. The EBIT margin was minus 1.1 percent.
Rosenbauer’s situation improved towards the end of the year
The supplier of firefighting equipment has again received more truck chassis, “which could increase the number of deliveries”, according to the broadcast. In the fourth quarter, sales of 321.0 million euros and a positive EBIT of 19.9 million euros almost reached the level of the comparable period (Q4 2021).
Record order intake
Rosenbauer then positively emphasizes the order intake, which reached a record value of 1,230.0 million euros in 2022. That also gives the group more confidence for this year. “Assuming a further improvement of the truck chassis offer”, the board of directors expects a turnover of more than 1 billion euros for 2023. The EBIT margin should improve by about four percentage points.
Dividend exemption planned
Due to the weak result for the period, the Executive Board and the Supervisory Board would like to propose to the General Meeting not to pay a dividend for 2022.
