The partially nationalized Telekom Austria has a new CEO as of September 1: Alejandro Plater, who has been a member of the Executive Board since March 2015 and who has held the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) since September 2018, will assume the role of CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors will take over from September.
As the Supervisory Board of Telekom Austria decided on Thursday, the contracts of the Executive Board of the previous CEO, Thomas Arnoldner, and von Plater will be extended for three years from September 1, with the option of a further two years. Arnoldner moves to the second row and becomes deputy chairman of the board, Telekom Austria announced in an ad hoc announcement on Thursday evening.
Siegfried Mayerhofer, CFO, has decided at his own request to leave the company at the end of his current term on August 31, 2023. As of September 1, the Board of Directors will consist of two members.
Alejandro Plater has been a member of the board of directors of the A1 Telekom Austria Group since March 2015 and has held the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) since September 2018. Prior to joining Telekom Austria, he worked at Sud America Seguros, Chubb & Son and most recently at Ericsson, where he held positions as director and vice president. Plater was born in Argentina in 1967 and is an Argentinian and Swedish national.
