The domestic shoe trade is slowly recovering from the corona shock. In 2020, the industry lost more than 20 percent, after a small plus in 2021, a growth of more than eight percent is expected for 2022. “Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to make up for the losses. But we are confident that we will succeed this year,” said division spokesman Friedrich Ammaschell. Because events such as weddings or theater and opera visits are taking place again, the sale of classic shoes is increasing sharply.
