Just like last year, Austria ranks 5th worldwide for the implementation of the UNO sustainability goals and is therefore among the leaders.
Minister of Europe and Constitution Karoline Edtstadler (ÖVP) emphasized Austria’s clear commitment to the 2030 Agenda and underlined the responsibility to strengthen sustainable development in Austria and internationally – especially for future generations.
Austria’s top position in the world ranking is proof that sustainability is not an empty slogan for the federal government.
The SDG catalog, agreed by the 193 UN member states in September 2015, lists 17 goals to be achieved by 2030.
Austria achieved a score of 82.28 percent in this ranking. Finland is the leader (86.76), followed by Sweden, Denmark and Germany. At the lower end of the scale are South Sudan (38.68) and the Central African Republic (40.40).
