The world’s largest travel group TUI expects strong demand during the autumn holidays. “Many guests want to extend the summer,” says Germany boss Stefan Baumert. Nowadays, beach holidays start earlier in the year and last longer.
The group has already created 75,000 extra holiday places for the autumn holidays. There are also supposed to be 65 extra flights with 12,300 seats. The most popular travel destination for TUI holidaymakers in the autumn is currently Antalya. “The travel boom for Turkey is continuing.” Summer temperatures and a good price-performance ratio are supposed to contribute to this. At the moment, it is mainly families who travel to Turkey.
They are followed by the US, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, the Maldives and Mauritius. When travelling by car, Germans mainly choose Germany, Austria, Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic.
Ryanair cuts ticket prices in summer quarter
Meanwhile, prices for flights on Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair are on a downward trend, although not as sharply as in the spring. In the summer quarter from July to September, tickets were five percent cheaper. In the previous quarter, this was 15 percent to stimulate weaker demand.
