The conflict between Steyr Automotive and the Austrian Chamber of Commerce over the payment of a contribution of 80,000 euros is entering the next round. After President Harald Mahrer said in an interview broadcast on the ORF program “ZIB1” that the company representative had indeed provided services to the vehicle manufacturer, the company immediately reacted.
“It is very well documented what the Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce, Foreign Trade and others have done,” Harald Mahrer said in an interview with “ZIB1” on Thursday evening towards Steyr Automotive. The chairman of the Chamber of Commerce clearly stated that he could not understand the company’s approach and criticism.
Since May 2022, Steyr Automotive has refused to pay the Chamber of Commerce surcharge of 70,000 euros over the previous year. Because nothing happened despite repeated payment requests, the outstanding amount rose to 80,000 euros. The Upper Austrian Chamber of Commerce recently submitted an application for execution to the Steyr court for this amount, which was also approved.
What was the achievement?
The performer has not yet appeared at the former MAN factory, which has been owned by Siegfried Wolf’s WSA GmbH since September 2021. Yet Steyr Automotive is still not giving up its position. According to Mahrer’s statement, the counterattack followed promptly. “We ask President Mahrer to forward this purported list as soon as possible to clarify the discrepancy between theory and practice.” : ‘What was my performance?’ to get the answer: zero.”
