The image of the apprenticeship system is bad, fewer and fewer companies are self-educating – Viennese hairdresser Hannes Steinmetz is campaigning to change that.
Study or internship? Almost every student asks himself this question at some point. Whereas in the past the majority opted for the latter, today it is the other way around – although initiatives and campaigns are being used to improve the image of education. Although the number of students increased again last year, there is still room for improvement.
Master hairdresser Hannes Steinmetz knows that too. Together with his wife Vanessa Steinmetz-Bundy, he now has two branches of his private salon Steinmetz-Bundy. The education of pupils is especially important to him – and he has ideas for making the teaching profession more attractive.
