The bottlenecks in the supply of materials and the associated production difficulties in the car industry are now also having consequences for Miba: as of April 1, the family business will register 600 employees for shorter working hours. The 600 employees influenced all work at Miba Sinter Austria in Vorchdorf.
With the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the long-standing supply problems in the car industry worsened. That is why BMW Steyr had to register 3,200 employees for short-time work at the beginning of March and the short-time working at Steyr Automotive was extended until June 2022.
Now Miba also has to take this measure: The family business of F. Peter Mitterbauer is applying as of April 1 for shorter working hours for 600 employees of Miba Sinter Austria in Vorchdorf. In total, Miba employs 2,500 people in Upper Austria alone. However, because the other branches do not work for the automotive industry, they are not affected by the current supply problems in the automotive industry.
Voluntary additional payment
The company group from Laakirchen pays voluntarily in addition to the short-time working wage. This means that the employees involved will voluntarily receive at least 90% of the net remuneration for short-time working.
