23 locations – Kika/Leiner: The final sale is going on now

Date:

An entrepreneur from Scharten (Upper Austria) reuses the equipment from the Kika/Leiner locations closed due to bankruptcy. The online auctions are already running. Time is running out for Norbert Lehner and his company Lenox. A team of 60 people is committed to completing everything on time.

Norbert Lehner is hoarse. “I almost have no voice anymore,” says the 47-year-old and has to clear his throat. However, the entrepreneur from Scharten currently has no time for sick leave. The business equipment recycling specialist and its company Lenox have secured the remainder of all 23 closed Kika/Leiner locations and four warehouses.

This means: the equipment, the restaurants and the remaining supplies are the property of Lehner, which auctions them on the online platform aurena.at.

“On average three markets per week”
It started on September 21 with 750 items in the former Kika in Eisenstadt and the next day 2,120 items from the closed store in Saalfelden went under the hammer. The locations in Vienna-Nord, Leoben and Liezen followed, Friday is Stockerau’s turn, next week it continues in Villach. “On average, three markets are cleared every week,” says Lehner.

Because the clock is ticking. All closed locations must be free of goods by mid-November. A team of about 60 people is working to make this possible.

Construction technology has its pitfalls
Processing is a challenge due to logistics alone. Moreover, construction technology works differently everywhere. “From fire detectors to alarm systems, there are many details to consider,” says Lehner.
