Rene Benko’s company is once again facing bankruptcy: Signa Sports United (SSU), which is controlled by Signa International Sports Holding (SISH), and several subsidiaries are facing bankruptcy filings, according to SSU. Subsidiary Tennis Point had already submitted such an application, it was said.
Other companies, including parent company Signa Sports United NV, are about to file for bankruptcy, the SSU said on Friday. This will happen in the coming days.
Bicycle dealers and other online stores
SSU includes British online bicycle store Wiggle and brands such as Fahrrad.de, Brügelmann, Campz and Outfitter.
Also branches in Austria
Tennis Point had filed for bankruptcy at the German court in Bielefeld. The court has appointed restructuring expert Christian Gerloff, who specializes in retail, as provisional administrator, his spokesperson confirmed.
In addition to the online business, Tennis Point also has several branches, including four in Austria. The sporting goods retailer also has several branches in Spain, Italy and France.
