Although EVN has done a lot to simplify its calculations, especially in the last half of the year, there is a big gap between understanding and the mix of “expert” terminology and legal language. “Understanding our calculation is not a matter of education level,” says EVN spokesperson Stefan Zach, reassuring many high school students and university graduates who may have come to doubt their ability to understand. He estimates that a maximum of five to ten percent of customers can read at least the majority of the invoice from the Lower Austrian energy supplier in a comprehensible manner.
