The Brandner excursion ships from Wallsee in Lower Austria expand the fleet of Austria’s largest and most traditional inland shipping company – including the “MS Vindobona”, “MS Wien”, the “MS Blue Danube” and the “MS Wachau” – to nine ships.
In the mega-Danube deal, the DDSG also offers continued employment to Brandner’s nautical staff. After the heavy Corona losses, the Vienna Danube Steamship Company, which was founded almost 200 years ago, is back in full swing. With more than 300,000 passengers, 2023 was a record year. However, it was agreed not to disclose the purchase price. There are rumors of more than six million euros. The new season in the Wachau starts on March 30.
