Disused factory sites with their ruins do not exactly improve the cityscape. A resourceful entrepreneur has found a solution that kills several birds with one stone: Johannes Rindhauser has specialized, among other things, in equipping such areas with photovoltaic systems.
The large plots, which generally have only partial potential for subsequent use, are not ideal in terms of increasing soil wear and for environmental reasons; the ravages of time turn them into “industrial ruins”. A photovoltaics expert from the Weinviertel has now converted a former glass factory in Alt-Nagelberg (Gmünd district) into an “energy factory”, and further steps will follow.
