Fair chocolate campaign: similar bars end up on supermarket shelves

Date:

From now on, be careful when shopping for chocolate: with so-called double bars from well-known chocolate brands, Tony’s Chocolonely wants to bring nothing less than a “sweet revolution” to Austria and show what honest really tastes like!

With the special packaging, the Dutch chocolate manufacturer wants to challenge the ‘Tony’s Faire Alternative’ campaign with the bitter reality of the chocolate industry. Inspired by well-known chocolate brands, these ‘double bars’ are not only intended to score points with taste and design, but above all to put honesty in the spotlight, as the impact company emphasizes.

The highlight: Unlike many major brands, Tony’s voluntarily pays a higher price for its cocoa, guaranteeing cocoa farmers a living income.

Show other manufacturers how it can also be done fairly
“Tony’s Fair Alternative” is not only intended to wake up consumers, but also to motivate other chocolate manufacturers to take their responsibility seriously and guarantee fair conditions in the cocoa industry. Because it has been proven that a higher, fair price is the most powerful factor in the fight against illegal child labor and would enable hundreds of thousands of families to live a better life. This campaign is intended to draw attention to this.

Does this make chocolate more expensive? According to Tony’s, this should not be allowed, which is evident from studies such as the Cocoa Barometer 2020: large chocolate manufacturers only have to give up a certain part of their profits. Tony’s already does this and invites everyone to copy the business model.

From February 12, everyone can see for themselves, when the “Doppelganger boards” will be available for 3.49 euros in all Interspar and selected Spar branches and in the Tony’s online shop.
