The amount of aluminum sold decreased, sales also decreased, as did profit after tax! Nevertheless, AMAG can look back on a good past year. CEO Helmut Kaufmann speaks of “solid business development” and is optimistic about the future.
“AMAG’s stability and flexibility have also proven their value in the past year,” says Helmut Kaufmann, CEO of the Ranshofen-based aluminum producer since January.
Because the amount of aluminum sold fell slightly and the price of aluminum also fell, this was reflected in the turnover of the previous year: it amounted to 1.459 billion euros. Profit after tax amounted to 66.4 million euros in a “challenging market environment”. In 2022 this was still 109.3 million euros. A loss of almost 43 million euros.
Mayer will start at Voestalpine in April
The prospects? “As a premium provider of specialty products, we will continue to offer innovative product solutions and thus benefit from increasing demand,” says Kaufmann, who succeeded Gerald Mayer at the turn of the year. Mayer will become CFO of Voestalpine from April.
