Sign Now – Renewable Energy: Down with the Flow of Circulation!

Date:

In order to realize the climate and energy transition, a rapid expansion of the required infrastructure is required. Large investments in hydropower, wind energy, storage, distribution and transport networks or rail connections have been the bottleneck of procedures for environmental impact assessments for years. However, in order to reduce dependence on foreign oil and gas supplies as quickly as possible, we must not get in the way. That’s why your vote is needed for more structured and accelerated approval processes. Sign up now for quick relief!

Defining very ambitious goals is not enough! Politicians must create the necessary legal framework to make this happen. According to calculations by the Energy Institute of Industry alone, investments of more than 70 billion euros will be needed by 2030 just to expand renewable energy sources and the associated infrastructure in Austria. The expansion of sustainable electricity generation and grids alone costs about 43 billion euros.

How we can turn the tide
With the current preconditions in the EIA Act, the turnaround cannot take place, that much is certain. Because it is not uncommon for proceedings to extend over several years. However, given our climate and energy targets, we cannot afford these delays in many cases (e.g. pumped storage plants, wind farms, expansion of high voltage infrastructure, etc.). For this reason it needs a major amendment to the EIA Act as a driver of the energy transition and for the benefit of the domestic location.

The industry has put together a whole list of suggestions to speed up EIA procedures and make them more efficient and calls for: Down with the avalanche of editions in renewable energy expansion! This requires your vote. Sign up now for quick relief!
