Energy costs are going down: EVN KG will again reduce prices for new contracts on April 1. Many existing customers can also switch to the cheaper system (soon).
New customers can choose between a rate with guaranteed prices and an associated one-year commitment or a market-based rate, which is adjusted monthly.
Gas 47 percent cheaper than 2023
“Anyone who commits to a one-year contract benefits from stable prices – regardless of what the next winter brings,” explains EVN KG Managing Director Herwig Hauenschild. The energy price of the associated Garant electricity rate drops to 14.14 cents net (16.9680 cents gross) per kilowatt hour. For comparison: the offer is about 47 percent cheaper than the offer from April 1, 2023. If you prefer an electricity rate that is close to the market and is adjusted monthly to market developments, then the active rate is a suitable offer . From April 1, this will be 9.59 cents net (11.5080 cents gross) per kilowatt hour.
EVN gas prices will also be cheaper in April. The Garant gas rate with a one-year commitment and simultaneous price guarantee decreases compared to last year’s offer by approximately 55 percent to 5.30 cents net (6.36 cents gross) per kilowatt hour. From April onwards, the float rate will remain stable at a favorable level at 3.3780 cents net (4.0536 cents gross).
It’s also worth taking a look at your rate for existing customers. “Depending on the rate and commitment, existing customers can also benefit from the new offers. We will contact our customers with a new, attractive offer at the latest when their contract expires,” says Hauenschild.
EVN Infobus will be on the road from mid-April
In order to advise customers as best as possible, EVN will start an information tour through Lower Austria from mid-April. “To help as many people as possible save money, our tour mainly goes to communities with high population density,” explains Hauenschild. “Cities where we already have a service center are excluded here.” Older people in particular prefer personal contact over online services.
Existing customers will receive a message
About 60 to 70 percent of the Lower Austrian energy supplier’s existing customers will soon be able to switch to the new rates. You will automatically receive a message from EVN and must then – as required by federal law – actively switch to the new pricing system.
