A train collided with a car in Halbenrain (Styria) on Friday evening. The driver (54) must have overlooked both the stop sign and the train.
Evening action on Good Friday for the Halbenrain Volunteer Fire Department: According to the police, a motorist (54) drove towards the B69 on a municipal road around 8:15 p.m. To reach this he had to cross a railway crossing. The man probably missed the stop sign placed there, as well as the approaching train. The driver had no chance to stop the train and crashed into the car, causing it to hit the bridge railing.
Despite his injuries, the 54-year-old was able to free himself from the car and was then taken to hospital. The six train passengers and the driver were unharmed.
