The AUA union members rejected the proposed KV offer for shipboard personnel on Tuesday afternoon.
The Vida union had its members vote on the airline’s latest KV offer together with AUA’s flying staff on Monday. The AUA is offering a pay increase of eight percent for this year and five percent for 2025 and 2026. Co-pilots should receive up to ten percent more. The results of the vote were published on Tuesday afternoon, with a majority rejecting the offer.
Will there be new strikes now?
A strike and several company meetings this spring have already led to hundreds of flight cancellations. This greatly increased the loss in the first quarter and the adjusted operating result (EBIT) fell to minus 122 million euros, the airline announced on Monday evening. The effects of the industrial action led to “the second worst Q1 result in the company’s history”.
Criticism of vida survey
WKO aviation chief – and Vienna Airport board member – Günther Ofner criticized the vida survey on KV even before the results were published. It is a ‘fake survey’ that is neither transparent nor representative, as only about a quarter of AUAS employees could participate. Even GPA union members were excluded.
