AMS Styrian regional manager Karl-Heinz Snobe is optimistic that many of the approximately 500 dismissed Magna employees will soon find new jobs.
After all, there are currently 12,500 open vacancies on the Styrian labor market. “In the production region alone, there are currently 1,500 vacancies spread across Styria – in the Graz region we have a total of 2,500 interesting vacancies for Magna employees in the system.”
He also assumes that a third of the Magna employees about to be laid off are from Slovenia and are therefore not part of the Styrian labor market. “Commuters must register as unemployed in their home country.”
