From 1 September, the construction of balcony and terrace centres in your own home should be easier. A corresponding resolution will be adopted in the National Council on Friday.
The Ministry of Climate announced this on Thursday. The new regulation stipulates that permission from other apartment owners is required if the planned placement has been announced and no one has responded to it within two months.
In future, if another apartment owner objects, a valid reason – such as safety considerations – must also be given.
Previously, permission from all apartment owners was required to install a PV system on a balcony or terrace. Climate Minister Leonore Gewessler (Greens) sees the new regulation as an “additional boost” for the energy transition.
