Life is increasingly shifting to the digital world. More and more official channels and banking transactions can now be carried out via the Internet. And with the federal repair bonus, there is an online requirement anyway, which has caused a lot of criticism. Older citizens in particular are de facto excluded from these offers. The “Krone” spoke to experts about the digital hurdle.
A few examples: Large retail chains – from the clothing industry to electronics retailers – offer discounts to customers who register online. Special offers are also intended to entice people to buy in the online shop. “Those who still buy in the shops buy more expensively,” warn consumer advocates. Once the device is at home, it often only works with an internet connection – this applies not only to ‘smart’ devices such as modern televisions, but sometimes also to children’s toys. This is annoying, but it only becomes really unfair when it comes to bank transactions.
