Every third household in Austria has to cut back to make ends meet. The potential for savings on fixed costs is currently higher than it has been for a long time. We have compiled a list of the best places to save money.
Currently, a family household that always has a contract with the most expensive provider can save up to 4,300 euros in fixed costs by switching to the cheapest provider. In concrete terms, this applies to gas up to 1,300 euros, electricity up to 950 euros or insurance up to 1,400 euros!
Although 60 percent have already changed mobile phone providers at least once and every second person has switched to electricity, the potential for optimizing fixed costs is far from exhausted, says Durchblicker boss Martin Spona, who also says that 89 percent of households have noticed a change in fixed costs this year. “At the same time, financial buffers have probably shrunk, as two in five Austrians say they can no longer cope with unplanned expenses such as repairs or purchases of larger household appliances without credit.”

If you are struggling with rising costs or want to optimize your expenses, you should definitely take a look at your fixed costs. Because there is more money here than there has been in a long time. We tell you where and how you can best start saving money and where it is also worth looking.
