On Friday evening, a 20-year-old was violently attacked in Vienna-Donaustadt. Several masked men attacked the young man, hitting him several times and then leaving him seriously injured. His worried mother contacted the ‘Krone’ with photos of her son to draw attention to the incident.
Shortly after 9 p.m., the 20-year-old was on his way home and was on the phone. When he got off the bus at Rennbahnweg, a gang of masked men approached him and asked him where he was from. When he replied that he was Turkish, they attacked him with fists and kicks. The 20-year-old was also seriously injured in the head with a knife.
“Kind regards” to the police
As he lay on the ground covered in blood, they said they called out to him before fleeing, telling him to say “kind regards” to the police.
Massive injuries
Shortly after, the seriously injured victim was taken to hospital by emergency services. Photos of the 20-year-old show massive injuries all over his body. According to the victim, the men are Syrians between 20 and 30 years old. Police have started investigating the case.
