Small downside in the summer and many obstacles for the cold season: that is what hotelier Walter Veit is worried about. The hotelier (Obertauern) explains in the “Krone” interview why there is scepticism among the residents of Salzburg, despite the generally increased willingness to travel.
“Crown”: Mr. Walter Veit, the pandemic is over, inflation is falling: Salzburg is likely to go from record to record when it comes to tourism statistics!
Walter knows: Stop. In the summer, overnight stays in Salzburg in the city and in the countryside are slightly lower than last year. It is not dramatic, but we have a big shift within the categories. The nights are booked, but not in the hotel sector, where the greatest value creation takes place, but in the holiday apartments.”
