This is the day on which the extraordinary summer pension is paid
The arrival of the month of June means summer, also collecting extra wages from pensioners, but on what day is this payment received? Social Security will indicate the date.
Pensions arising from common illnesses and non-occupational accidents are received in delinquent natural monthly installments representing a total of 14 payments. This is one for each month of the year and two extraordinary. However, not all retirees have extra pay as such. In the case of those pensions resulting from accidents at work and occupational diseases, they are paid in 12 payments, as the extraordinary payments are calculated pro rata in the regular monthly instalments.
The additional payments are paid in the months of June and November, together with the salary of the pension belonging to those months.
In the case of full accrual periods (six months), these are paid in the same amount as the amount of a regular monthly payment, both in the payment corresponding to June and in the payment corresponding to November.
That is, during those two months, it will appear as if a double payment is received. If you receive 532 euros in pension, you will receive a total of 1064 euros in June (532 of the monthly benefit and 532 of the extraordinary).
Social Security warns that the exact date of payment of this amount may differ depending on the bank where the retiree has domiciled his pension, normally in the last days of the accrual period.
This accrual period is between December 1 and May 31 of the following year, both inclusive, if it concerns the June extraordinary distribution. Between 1 June and 30 November also both inclusive, if it is the extraordinary benefit for November.
The extra summer wage, as it is popularly known for the month of June, is paid with that month’s payroll, which is paid on July 1.
The General Treasury of Social Security (TGSS) usually issues the payment of pensions to collaborating financial entities on June 25. Most banks advance the amounts and make them available to their customers a few days in advance, on 23 or 24 June.
