On September 5, 2024, Vienna became a hotspot for green innovations. The third Green Peak Festival on Erste Campus brought together more than 1,000 participants from business, politics and society. The focus was on the common will to make the world more sustainable.
International celebrities such as Ugandan Environment Minister Beatrice Atim Odwong, US Ambassador Victoria Reggie Kennedy and former German Vice Chancellor Philipp Rösler enthralled the audience with their forward-looking ideas. World record swimmer and mental trainer Markus Rogan also captivated the audience with his lecture on the topic of ‘Sustainable Mindset’.
The future in young hands
Particularly moving were the performances of the students during the Next Gen Contest. They presented their projects and impressively showed that the next generation is ready to take on responsibility.
The Green Peak Award, which was presented to the best green start-ups, was also an example of innovation and courage. Here, not only prizes were awarded, but also stories were told – by founders who are brave enough to change the world. Their projects set new standards and show that innovation and sustainability go hand in hand.
After this successful event, expectations for next year are rising. The Green Peak Festival 2025 will be even bigger and more international. The festival’s story is far from over. More information about the Greenpeak Festival can be found HERE.
