There was also a fire alarm in 2022 and the ship had to be evacuated. The huts were identified as a stove of the fire on the pagboard side of the aircraft carrier. According to Russian information, no people were damaged with this fire.
At this point the Admiral Kusnezow should have been repaired a long time ago. The former commander of the Pacific Fleet, Sergei Awakjanz, sees conversation with the “Moscow times” no longer any use for these types of ships: “The aircraft carrier is a remnant of the past. He is a huge and expensive ship that can be destroyed with modern weapons within a few minutes.” The Russian military expert Wassili Dandykin, who indicates the need for aircraft carriers, sees it completely different when it comes to operations “far from the coasts”. Moreover, the expansion of the Chinese and Indian Marine, which also includes aircraft carriers.
