After three races and two changes owned by the Gaißau-Hintersee Skikwing in Salzburg, the last end is now on the hands. There is a lack of financing for investments …
A termination message from the lifts was requested from the state of Salzburg. The search of the owners – three companies and a private person from the region – for partners for investments of around 40 million euros in the renewal of the facilities were not successful.
With three armchairs, four tow lifts and a babylift, the skiWing is not a large ski area on the gates of the city of Salzburg. It is between 750 and a good 1500 meters above sea level. Settlement factories are missing, therefore the lift operation, which is no longer used for some winters, is no longer included. The current owners should also not have finance new facilities.
The office of the responsible deputy Stefan Schnöll (ÖVP) of Salzburg confirmed that the demolition had been requested by the state authorities. But no decision has been made yet.
