“Apple is determined to seize the opportunities presented by China’s opening up and will continue to increase its investments in the country to contribute to the high-quality development of the industry and supply chains,” Chinese state news agency Xinhua quoted CEO Tim Cook as saying. Meetings at the highest level
Cook consulted with Minister of Industry and Information Technology Jin Zhuanglong on Wednesday. Topics included Apple’s development in China, handling data security on the Internet and cloud services, Xinhua reported.
Apple initially did not respond to a question from the Reuters news agency. It is Cook’s second visit this year to the world’s largest smartphone market, where Apple has had to give up market share to domestic competition in recent quarters.
