On nice days there is often too much solar energy on the electricity grid – and there is always more coming. Small owners of PV systems are now very concerned that they may not be able to supply their electricity in the future. There are almost 73,000 PV systems in Upper Austria alone.
The grid operators have announced that large private PV systems will have to be scaled back if there is an oversupply of solar energy. Energie AG is now building a system with a peak power of 4.58 megawatts in Pischelsdorf, which corresponds to 500 average private roof systems. The concern of small feed companies: “Should private individuals be afraid that they will be allowed to feed less due to such large production areas?”, the “Krone” asked Energie AG.
