The airline’s operating profit recently halved. Seven times higher costs for start-ups than in Prague, four times higher indirect labor costs than in Switzerland. Why AUA boss Annette Mann is slowly starting to turn a blind eye to the red-white-red location if politicians do not take action quickly.

Unlike politics, she is not someone who covers up or obscures the facts: AUA CEO Annette Mann, now known for her clear vision and clear words. The almost 47-year-old German has been at the helm of Austrian Airlines for three years (the first woman in the company’s history, by the way). Before that, the economist studied was responsible for sustainability and premium products at parent company Lufthansa for twenty years.
