The third day of unemployment for the Spanish cabin crew coincides this Sunday with the summons in Portugal, Belgium and France
Ryanair (TCP) cabin crew strike is beginning to cause concern at airports. On the first day, last Friday, no flights to or from Spain were canceled as the airline carried out 100% of the trips and ignored the lack of staff. But the second and third day had much more impact.
While on Saturday the strikes forced the cancellation of 75 flights at Spanish airports and caused delays for a further 180, this Sunday the third day of the TCP strike resulted in the cancellation of 42 flights to or from Spain, as confirmed by the USO. union, convener of strikes.
In addition, 58 flights departing from Spanish airports were delayed. Likewise, this third day of strike in Spain coincides with the deliveries also called in Portugal, Belgium and France.
Malaga airport has been the hardest hit with a dozen departures and eight arrivals cancelled, in addition to six delayed flights. It is followed by Barcelona El Prat Airport, with six canceled departures and six arrivals, as well as eight delays. Similarly, Palma de Mallorca airport has already experienced delays in 13 flights, while one departure and one arrival have been cancelled.
There are three other strike days, for June 30 and July 1 and 2 at the airline’s ten bases in Spain.
In Belgium, stoppages of the Ryanair crew are most noticed here, as the country has no minimum services.
The Easyjet TCP has also decided to go on strike in Spain in the summer. In your case, the strikes will start the following day 1 and will be nine days in the month of July with the aim of unblocking the negotiations on the II CLA. Therefore, on July 1 and 2, both strikes will coincide, which could further emphasize the situation at airports such as Barcelona, where the two airlines are based.
