Due to the political standstill, entrepreneurs complain that the board is in hibernation

Date:

“The civil servants have gone into hibernation and are waiting there until the next minister arrives. “We don’t have time for hibernation now,” said entrepreneur Harald Kohlberger, Managing Director of Consileon, with these sharp words, starting a wake-up call. He complains that the government is putting a number of business projects on hold due to the political standstill.

Projects would be halted in all ministries and “in a very special way if there was a Green minister and it is certain that there will certainly be a new one,” Kohlberger said. Consileon is a large IT company involved in numerous public administration projects. Kohlberger: “Those responsible for digitization in the departments are now there sharpening their pencils.” Even projects that have already been budgeted would be put on the back burner.

Increase efficiency and productivity with AI
Especially in the administrative field, efficiency and productivity can be increased with the help of digitalization and artificial intelligence, for example through automated solutions for the invoicing system and accounts payable administration.

There are also many ways to relieve personnel in the security field, such as border control. “We have a huge problem, especially in the security apparatus. We have a space that we cannot fill in the next five years and we need these solutions across the entire service portfolio when it comes to security, both indoors and outdoors.”

“I can’t wait for Easter”
The state can lead the way with best practice models and become a pioneer for the economy. “We cannot wait until Easter for the next government to take office or the next elections, but we must use the time. We have the budgets, we also have a current government, life goes on,” Kohlberger said. “We have to get out of lethargy, otherwise we are on our way to destroy Österreich AG.”
