The Vorarlberg company Volta is bankrupt. Bankruptcy proceedings were opened in Feldkirch on Thursday.
The Vorarlberg commercial kitchen manufacturer Volta Edelstahl GmbH, based in Lauterach, is bankrupt. According to announcements from the creditor protection associations KSV 1870 and the Alpine Creditors Association (AKV), the debts amount to approximately 2.1 million euros. 61 employees and approximately one hundred creditors are affected. Bankruptcy proceedings were opened on Thursday following a company filing at the Feldkirch Regional Court.
According to the company, the development of the business was negative “due to the economic situation” and cited significant additional costs in production, materials and personnel as decisive factors.
It is initially unclear whether the company will continue. The first exam meeting was scheduled for March 20. According to AKV, the company would already have suffered losses in 2022 and 2023. When a bridging loan had to be repaid at the end of 2024 and takeover talks with interested parties failed, Volta became bankrupt. The amount of assets is not yet known.
