US President Donald Trump promised criminal rates for Auto -Import for the beginning of April on Friday. When asked when exactly he could present an announcement of the measure, he said: “Maybe around April 2”.
Trump, who signed a document to prepare mutual rates on Thursday, did not provide any further information. He regards the US as a disadvantage in trade with other countries.
After an extensive examination of the individual trade relationships with other countries, the customs tasks must therefore be adjusted: the United States must then collect the same rates for certain products as the respective trading partner if they import these products from the US.
Customs policy mainly influences Europe
Trump, with his customs policy, also focuses on the EU. The US president said that the EU was “absolutely brutal” in her trade policy. The EU increases ten percent inch when importing cars from the US, the United States have so far asked 2.5 percent.
However, the American rates on other products, such as light commercial vehicles, are considerably higher. There are also more American products when importing the EU is completely free from customs than EU products when they are imported into the US.
