While Record Bankruptcy René Benko is waiting for his next detention date at the end of February, his family members are now confronted with an extremely unpleasant claim. Because the Staatsfonds of Saudi Aarabia, which Benko owes hundreds of millions, has now requested the evacuation of the Innsbruck residence.
“We … ask the Laura Private Foundation to take urgent taking all the steps to take the Benko family immediately to leave the building on the Viller-Steig in Innsbruck-Igls,” says a letter to the board of the Laura Private Foundation and from which the “financial times” quotations.
Saudi lawyers want to claim claims
Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) lawyers are currently trying to claim claims against the fallen real estate juggler. Benko would have made the Saudi fund easier with hundreds of million euros. The PIF is one of the biggest creditors of the Broken Signa -Rijk.
The neat villa in Innsbruck is currently the most important residence of the Benko family. The real estate is officially owned by Schlosshotel Igls Inspiribs GmbH & Co KG, whose partner is the Laura Private Foundation. At the end of November 2023, the property was rented to the Signa Holding, which was hurled in the bankruptcy. At the time, Benko had demolished the former Castle Hotel for the construction of the villa and had built the new building with around 60 million euros.
“Middle Easer” Benko lived in luxury villa
René Benko himself, according to his own statements since his private bankruptcy, also lived there until his arrest. But the rent for the Nobelheim now had to transfer Mama Benko. An impressive 238,500 euros must be paid for the villa every month. Not unusual for such an object.
The Laura Private Foundation was founded by Benko and his mother, his mother, wife and children are beneficiaries. This also explains why Mama Benko pays the rent for the junior. In any case, the foundation does not miss money through the lease. Part of the distributions of Benko’s mother finally flows back to the foundation. Quasi a perpetuum mobile in terms of rent.
Foundation Construct as a harder chunks
In any case, the Saudi ex-business partners are the object and the financial constructions around it are a thorn in the side. Now the Benkos have to move to earn the property in money and therefore pay part of the claims.
But the foundation of Benko constructs Laura (headquarters in Innsbruck) and INGBE (seat in Liechtenstein) appear to be more difficult for the Signa Mass Manager and domestic authorities. A trial against Benko’s mother Ingeborg in this case was postponed at the end of January.
