After malfunction at the ECB National Bank: salaries in the account, but “invisible”

Date:

It is already the last month, but you still have no salary on the account? Don’t worry, your employer does not have to be blamed – there is a very different reason. There are currently delays due to the “technical problems” of the European Central Bank. The Austrian National Bank reassures: everyone will soon see their salary in the account.

Many people were surprised in the morning – although the last day of the month and the weekend is just around the corner, the well -made salary was missing. Before you get angry with the employer because it was not transferred on time, you still have to wait a bit.

Payments must still be received on Friday
The Erste Bank soothes its customers in online banking with a note: domestic transfers were received a day late. The credit institution ensures that all open transfers will be performed in Friday. Pension payments are also influenced accordingly. In order not to overload the channels, ask for calls.

National Bank: transfer carried out, but not yet visible
As the Austrian National Bank explained in an interview with the “Krone”, it is convinced that all outstanding salaries and pension payments are visible during the day. Due to the hardware problems in the short term, the payment transactions have been disruptions, Governor Robert Holzmann explains. “That means: every transfer has been carried out correctly, but it can occasionally occasion that delays occur in the short term until the transfer to the account appears.”

Some readers reported on Friday afternoon to the “Krone” that they had already received their salary – albeit late. Others continued to show the note in which the discomfort apologized.

Problems with two settlement systems of the ECB
A disruption of the European payment system influenced two important settlement systems on Thursday – problems with Platforms Doel 2 (T2) for large payments and T2S for securities transmissions. In the evening it was said that both systems work well again.

The consequences of the condition were noticeable the next day – there were delays in large payments. These are in particular salary and pension payments, as well as social benefits. “This can lead to the fact that the credited entrances are only attributed to the check -in payments for a later date,” said the Deutsche Bundesbank in the early Friday afternoon.

The problems with the European Central Bank (ECB) are not due to a hacker attack, but on a technical error. There was no “malicious attack”. According to the ECB, communication with the network was disturbed. Some graphic interfaces on the processing system were no longer available. Participants were recommended to send all communication to which they would have received rejections later.
