Go into nature! In Corona Pandemic, many Austrians followed their urge to move and discovered their passion for outdoor sports. Walking, skiing, running or cycling – especially as a compensation in the digital world, movement is still very trendy. The founders of the Mountain Sports Outlet Christoph Krahwinkler and Jürgen Scheidlberger also benefit from this.
Sattledt, Vöcklabruck, Schlüßlberg, SteyRegg and Gmunden-Five branches operated the Mountain Sports Outlet, which was founded in 2015 by Jürgen Scheidlberger and Christoph Krahwinkler. Since then, the two sports trade experts have been doing everything they can to set up their business stable. And that succeeds too.
“A lot of good in the last ten years”
“In the current financial year we will be able to raise our sale and our result in the high series of single -digit,” the two, “For us this is a clear confirmation of our strategy and the proof that we have done a lot in the last ten years.”
From functional shirts to trail-hard running shoes and socks to jackets-the range is clearly focused on the areas of outside, walking, running, skiing and bicycle. “We lead clothing, shoes and accessories such as backpacks, snowshoes, ski and bicycle helmets,” says Scheidlberger. You score with a good price-performance ratio for customers, “who don’t want to do without good advice and a solid brand offer,” said Krahwinkler.
Very positioned brands are looking for new sales channels
How does the challenging situation on the market for sports equipment influence the Mountain Sports Outlet? Time and again it is reported on the inhibitory consumer mood and full lusters of manufacturers and dealers. “The market for sporting goods is changing. Of course we also recognize the large amount of goods on the market, this leads to high pressure on selling prices and a price war. Changed sales channels of the industry give us the opportunity to add new brands to the range, “says Krahwinkler. “Even for highly positioned and therefore high -faded brands, it is becoming increasingly difficult to force a selective sales strategy,” adds Scheidlberger.
The Mountain Sports Outlet Makers do not meet that the demand for bicycles for the Extreme Corona Boom was canceled and at the same time produced by the manufacturers because of an optimistic planning, including the dealer at a high level. “We realized ten years ago that we leave skiing and bicycles to the rent or the specialists in these areas,” the two said.
